Revenge of the Termites
After days of finding the source of the termites' noise, the kind of noise you will hear whenever they are eating stuff, finally we have found it. To my horror the source of the termites' noise was in our book storage above a cabinet. That infestation could have been happening for weeks or months and we only discovered it last night. Swear, I can't sleep last night because I was picturing the utter destruction of our priced school books, but still optomistic that they might infested the older books, I slept hoping that my books might only need cleaning from the termite infestation.
So this morning, together with my sister we faced the termite infestation head on. All my hopes of finding my books in at least readable condition were gone after seeing that they had bored and had eaten almost all of my books! From my FEU books to my Don Bosco books were all decimated (literally!). We had to spray our books with tons of insect repellant and page after page, hundreds (!) of termites manifests themselves. Until now as I'm writing this entry, I still have the goosebumps whenever I remember the clean-up we have to do earlier. Though it pains me a lot, I had to throw away all our books and only mourn for the lost.
We are fighting a losing battle with the termites. One of these days our house might collapse. Hope we leave and find a new place soon.
